Our Waterfowl Hunts

Every fall, tens of thousands of snow and blue geese and ducks choose the fertile prairie wheat lands as their staging area for their southerly migrations. While snows, blues, Canada's and ducks are our main focus, the afternoon will provide you with the opportunity for grouse and pheasant hunting as well.

Please feel free to customize your hunt as desired. The area has sandhill cranes and swans as well. Once you're here, we'll take care of all food, lodging, meals, game processing and guiding.

Waterfowl hunts are set up on three day schedules. Our waterfowl hunts are often conducted in dry fields. We also hunt small ponds and lakes, which afford some fantastic shooting.. And, of course, our pheasant hunting takes place on a magnificent spread of private land. We scout every afternoon, and we'll be in the flightline in the morning.

One guide to every four to eight hunters will accompany the group out to the hunting area in the morning. The way to ruin a great hunting experience is to try to accommodate too many guns over a given spread. Therefore, at Mouse River, we hunt a minimum of four guns and a maximum of eight guns for each of our hunters to adequately cover the spread and, at the same time, offer the finest possible shooting opportunity for each of our guests. We offer all day hunts that will include a morning waterfowl hunt followed by an afternoon hunt for grouse and pheasant.
